Investing in African Mining - June 17, 2008The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
The Fairmont Hotel was the setting for MineAfrica's initial venture into Vancouver with its Investing in African Mining seminar on June 17. The keynote address by the Fraser Institute provided an insightful ranking of African countries as mining investment destinations based on 13 policy factors including taxation, regulation and land claims. Presenting companies covered the diverse geographic scope of Africa (including Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, the DRC, Mali, Republic of Congo, South Africa and Sudan) with equally diverse and exciting projects in copper, nickel, energy, gold, potash, uranium.
A special thanks to Daye Kaba, from Fasken Martineau, for chairing the seminar and to our sponsors; Fasken Martineau (Premier Sponsor), Adira Capital, MagIndustries, Riverstone Resources and the Canada-South Africa Chamber of Business.
