Investing in African Mining - London, UK - 2010 report

MineAfrica's 4th Annual Investing in African Mining Seminar with Premier Sponsor Standard Bank in London, UK on November 29, 2010 drew 141 participants over the course of the day to hear an interesting range of 16 project updates by mining companies and technical presentations by financial, legal and engineering experts on doing business in Africa's mining industry. The seminar, held at the 5-star Andaz Hotel, kicked off with a keynote address by Greg Hawkins, Chief Executive Officer of African Barrick Gold entitled "Africa: Navigating the Challenges."

30% of the audience was from the financial sector (mining analyst, fund/asset manager, investment bank, etc) and 25% were senior mining executives. 55% of the audience was from Europe (50% from the UK), 22% from Canada, 13% from Africa and 5% from Australia.

Media in attendance included African Business Journal, Infomine, International Resource Journal, MineWeb, Mining Media Inc., Newsworld and the Zimbabwe Guardian.

The seminar featured a session on Eritrea with a presentation by His Excellency Ahmed Haj Ali, Minister of Energy and Mines for the State of Eritrea and project updates by Nevsun, NGEx and Sunridge, who also hosted a cocktail presentation following the seminar.
