Alan W. Bell is the president of Globe Risk International Inc., an internationally renowned security-consulting firm, providing specialized consulting services and training to companies and individuals operating both domestically and internationally. An expert in international terrorism, Mr. Bell's distinguished career comprises more than twenty-two years of Special Forces experience, including twelve years with Britain's elite commando unit, the Special Air Service (SAS), the world's foremost Special Forces unit. He has spent many years assisting natural resource companies plan, prepare and respond to security and terrorist related activities.
Mr. Bell approaches the threat of a terrorist attack or kidnapping from a unique perspective - that of the terrorist; during his career he has not only rescued hostages from kidnappers, but has also kidnapped international criminals and delivered them to International Human Rights Courts to face justice. By understanding the strategies utilized by terrorist and kidnapping groups, he is able to better design counter-measures to prevent an attack or kidnapping. There are very few individuals who could deliver such a presentation, drawing from years of front line experience. He has participated in counter terrorist operations worldwide and can offer a first-hand, unique and interesting perspective on the subject of both terrorism and kidnap and ransom.
As a professional resource on international security and terrorism, Mr. Bell is called to comment on kidnapping, terrorist and international security related events by both International and Canadian media (TV, radio, newspaper, magazines) and regularly appears on US, UK and Canadian national networks.
